this video is sponsored by Sreshtah online stores for good discounts click the link in the description box we are at Malavalli Taluks Ganalu village behind me you can see a beautiful waterfall its name is Ganalu waterfalls this is in forest area it still has not developed into a tourism area not many know of this place, through social media people are getting to know of this place to reach here, there is a little off road i will show you the road, you can come by two wheeler with little with little difficulty you can come by four wheeler too, some people do come by four wheeler its your choice, see the road once then decide whether to get four wheeler or not We have to go ahead here for Ganalu falls it is also known as Benki falls here is a government board if you go this side, you can reach Muthathi and Bheemeshwari Muthati is actually 16 kms from here but they have put as 3 kms Bheemeshwari is 10 kms from here but it is written as 5.5 kms and Benki falls is nearby 5kms from here but it is written as 22kms from here i request them to change it As per Karnataka Government this falls itself is benki falls, but as per google map benki falls is in another place near Bannarghatta that place is marked i have done its video as well, to see its video click the link above if go further from here, refreshments may not be available so i suggest take refreshment in this junction itself there are few shops ahead but they may not be open always we came through this route if we go this way, you will reach Ganalu falls if we go this way there is a check dam to see that video, click the link above now let us go see Ganalu falls so after seeing the off road you decide whether to come by two wheeler or four wheeler after coming here, we need to go down this road how far we can go down let us see i went down and came, down could not talk as the water sound nothing else is audible so quickly i will tell you about the falls and river when getting down you have to carefully as it is slippery climbing up is a bit difficult as it is steep you may get tired this is simha river, it is born in tumkur chamarajanagar, near Shivanamaudra it joins Kaveri river, tumkurs Devarayanadurga hill this simsha river is born from there till it reaches Kaveri it flows for 221 kms there are two dams for this river one is Marconahalli dam, and the other is Igaloor Dam to view Marconahalli dam video click the above link to view igloor dam you can click the link above too or check the description for link does this flow like this all year round? When it rains in Tumkur and Bangalore only then it is like this if not water is generally less here how less will it be?very less just one row thats it then we can play in water right? we can play but need to be careful as it is quite deep as we climb down at each step the falls is visible with each step its view is very different come let us see the view along each step here you need to be careful when climbing down there are a lot of chances of slipping down here you have to be extra cautious you can see the marks of people who have slipped if we slip even little we will only land after reaching the bottom

  1. Another great place I am privileged to discover through your efforts and dedication. Never knew such afalls existed , though I have been to Beemeshwary Camp about 10 years ago. Thank you very much.

  2. Wonderful Sudeesh…
The flow of water is regulated in the dam near TK halli upstream, and the check dam which is just 1.5 kms upstream of this falls. There is a channel from this check dam which leads to the power station where all water gets used. The power station has 17.2MW capacity if I am right. Unless the dam is superfull, the water goes to the turbines instead of river course.
Even when the water starts overflowing from the check dam to the river course, it's a matter of a few hours only. And within 10 mins of the spillage stopping, the falls literally becomes empty as water is being constantly let out by the channel for power generation.
So, one should be really lucky to see the falls in full flow. This is the Shimsha river and its primary catchment is Tumkur, Bellur and around that belt. So the dam doesn't get filled easily for it to be let in it's natural river course.

  3. Good job from Sudeesh capturing the beauty of the falls. As this fall gets popular with college kids and youths, tthis place is sonn going to get dirty with beer bottles and thrash all over the place, and this in turn going to pollute the river. The local youths should put effort to ehnace the beauty of this fall but not letting the public to spoil the serenity of this place. yuvajanare eddheli !

  4. Thanks Sudeesh..

  14. Good effort by sudeep kottikal to show a nice falls . But tourism dept and forest dept shall jointly take care to protect tourist lives from contingent happenings through protective measures. Because Mallalli falls in Kodagu is an example for frequent losses of young lives every year.
